The new Call of Duty 4 2 (or whatever the hell you call this game) trailer is pretty amazingly epic. Gotta admit, I was kinda taken aback at first. Don’t watch it if you care about story spoilers, because it looks like they’re blowing the whole plot open in this one:
My gut reaction to this was “Holy balls, that’s kind of over the top, isn’t it?” I mean, CoD4 is such a “realistic-ish” experience that this kind of Tom Clancy sci-fi insanity seems out of place, at least tonally. And then I remembered the nuke in CoD4, and it all made sense. You have to top what came before, after all.
And hey, Infinity Ward are smart people who know how to make games. For all I know, this isn’t even the biggest twist in the COD4MW2:5SDFDF storyline. Maybe it’s all a dream, or some kind of Live Free or Die Hard evil angry propaganda CG threat. We’ll find out next month, I guess.
